Oh second dibs
-
• #14253
I have two.
They were test prints... They could do with some finessing but they'll do what they were intended to do.
I'll bring one to Seabass Peckham tomorrow and write your name on it.
Come collect when you're ready. -

Looks like I didn't @ you in the reply.
There's a grey one on my desk at Seabass for you when you're ready.
You're still local right? -
• #14255
Sorry yes, I'll be there later today at lunch if that's okay with you.
-
• #14256
Sure!
No apology necessary. -
• #14257
ooh interesting, also gonna get one of those to try
-
• #14258
I was just going to order one, then saw the 10 quid postage - I'm happy to pay for the widget, but I live pretty near Seabass, any chance I can collect from there some time next week?

Who needs 650b when you've got a Brompton?

Very nice indeed, but you are you Mr B Gryllz in disguise?
-
• #14261
Yeah! Sure.
I gave one to Hoke today and I'll dig the other out for you and have int in the shop for Monday. The print needs work but the object will do what it needs to do.

• #14262
Awesome , where is that?
-
• #14263
Oh amazing, thanks, will pop in some time Monday

How's the pannier setup interfering with your left foot? Did you do something specific to make it fit?

@ejay2.0 It's around Montpellier, I was heading up to see the Pic Saint Loup. Highly recommended, though almost anywhere in southern France is pretty corking I'd guess.
@Arvy. it's just water in the bidon, honest.
@Marcootsee no interference at all. I use an Ortlieb Front Roller with the clips about 3/4 back. I can chuck more pictures up if you'd like more details.

Looks like I've promised three but I only have two!
I'll print another one and be in touch once it's done!

I took the Brompton for the weekly farmshop trip today. A nice 10mile loop, there many or many not have been locally made ice cream consumed.

was giving my 2016 raw lacquer a clean today & noticed a bit of rust starting at rub points on the rear triangle - I think it looks worse in the pics than it looks in person, but what could/should I be doing to keep this in check? long-term I'm fairly chill as it's an excuse to switch to kinetics / rohloff, but...

The corrosion on the chain stay bridge doesn't look confidence-inspiring. Hopefully, your comment re 'looking worse than it is' applies.

what I mean is - in the photo it looks like rusty metal flaking up to reveal a hole in the chainstay bridge, in person it looks (to me) like rust-coloured lacquer flaking up to reveal an intact tube with some surface rust. question is, how can I protect the tube - is it "get the rear triangle resprayed"?

TBH Brompton rear triangles do have a reputation for rusting from the inside out. Other than internally applying Waxoyl or similar when the frame is new, I'm not sure what else you can do. Other than speccing Brompton's super light variant which features a Ti rear triangle.
ETA - Put it to @Rhobbs see what he says. -

Has anyone used the new Brompton Superlight Quick Release Pedals? Thinking about upgrading and wondering how these compare to the alternatives based on the MKS system

Probably only way to do anything meaningfull to stop the corrosion on the bridge would be to strip, clean, prime and paint it with something with anti corrosive properties.
In the meantime, spray framesaver/Dinitrol inside all the rear frame tubes and get on with life? I’m pretty sure the rear guard on both of our bikes sits inside of the bridge rather than stopping right on it, can you play around with the position of the mount at the brake at all to make this happen as it means the water runs past the bridge rather than onto it?
I have a spare.
DM me your address and I'll post it out.
