Couple of new (old) ones for my little collection. A 1940’s Smiths and a 1960’s gold Smiths Imperial.

Cheers. I think that even factoring in the work it would be worth it to have something a little bit different.

Is this some sort of fanboi infomercial? I can’t say that I’m seeing the quality/premium described, just something that you might think is fun (it’s not my jam) at a price that’s not exactly inclusive.

(Sorry, didn’t meant to @ you, just seemed to make sense to reply so comment was in some sort of context)

They must be making huge profits on them.
If you think of the kind of stuff someone like Timefactors can do at that price point and the huge economies of scale that Swatch has they must be producing them for relative peanuts.

Anyway, this is what I've mainly been wearing for the past few weeks.
I don't take great care of the leather strap (two stitch one) and don't always take it off for washing up, showers, etc. Is there anything it's worth treating it with?

Hey watch fans. Appreciate it’s a bit fishy that I’m flogging stuff on my second post on this thread - but have been speaking to a few of you on PM and having been knocking about the forum for a good few years.
Any interest in these two watches?
First up is a 1966 Seiko Sportsmatic Deluxe.
The face is in immaculate condition, with a lovely sunburst effect and no scratches on the acrylic crystal. All the angles are super sharp. Case back has a Dolphin on it. Timekeeping is good and date-set works. Oh, case is 38mm. Looking for £120.
Next is a vintage Casio Quartz ‘super illuminator’ diver (MTD-1048)
I’ve had this for about 25 years and it is in really good shape (bar a small scratch on the crystal). Nice positive bezel action, illuminator (button above the crown) is super bright. It is a 41mm watch, but weirdly feels like it wears much smaller (I have baby wrists!). The crystal is nicely domed (which is why the close up shot looks a bit odd). Not really sure how to price this, but maybe £75? Feel free to call me out if this is wide of the mark.
I’m in SE23, and frequently in SE1 if you want to check things out before you buy or will post recorded delivery at cost.

Saddle soap? Or leather cream?
-
• #73946
Absolutely.
And I don’t know if it’s fair at all but this feels more obviously about the $ than the MoonSwatch (which of course was all about the $)

It’s salty weather.
Edit: maybe too much!
