If you have the space go for it. Ideally get deep cabinets too so you’re not wasting space. I built cabinetry around our freestanding WM and it’s great, doesn’t vibrate anything when it’s spins up and the door stays perfectly aligned. Integrated WMs can do one.
I’d like to hide our freestanding washing machine behind new kitchen base unit door (not up for integrated machine for manifold reasons).
Current machine is ~650mm deep, meaning I’d need to mount the entire run of base units at least 50mm forward and end up with a ~700mm deep worktop.
Am I nuts, or is this commonly done? If not, why?
