Also bring in any previous bikes, and get insurance.

Ah, not heard of them before, that seems like a good idea thanks!
Think I’m going to go to tool station and get a couple of Van locks to stop what seems to be a known vulnerability of this type of shed!

Yeah insurance is fine, but prevention would be better as is a cargo bike and my main form of transport! Thanks

This is the type of deal I have. Haven’t measured the dB but it’s pretty dang loud.

How sensitive are these things? I.e. do you think it'll go off every time the bus goes past given the shed is only a pavement away from a main road?

When I had a shed in the UK, I secured the bikes with a couple of shed shackles. They wouldn't stop someone forever but they'd have to smash the shed to bits to get the bikes which might alert me or a neighbour.

Had a shed shackle in a previous shed, they are a good product but the design of the current shed doesn't really suit the shackle as it hasn't got studs in an accessible position. It does have a scaff pole built into the shed frame so would have taken them a fair bit more effort to get the bike once in. I just now feel like the shed design does have a weakness in the doors that could do with a bit more discouraging! Thanks

They’re adjustable.

Shit, scary stuff! Glad they didn't manage it and nobody got hurt. Maybe a motion sensor light for good measure? I guess it's the same concept as bike locks. Nothing is likely to stop someone determined enough forever, you just need to make your bike more hassle than it's worth so that they move on to a softer target.

Get another Ring camera at the shed and tell them to fuck off if they come back
-
• #16562
Yep exactly, have bolted a couple of Van locks to the doors this evening so they should at least realise getting in is more hassle than previously, but obviously not impossible!
-
• #16563
Well the same can be achieved from the doorbell, I’ll bear it in mind if the opportunity arises again!
-
• #16564
I hope the situation doesn’t arise again. I mentioned a second device to give an opportunity to ID the thieves.

Suspicious looking advert for a Temple Adventure Disc (I think) in London:

Absolutely, waiting until the price drops on them again but yeah. Wondering whether to mount it inside the shed to protect the cam from the elements and be a last resort type thing or mount it up on the house as another visual deterrent but potentially not a great image of the top of thief’s head?!?!

Alternatively a security light but I think the camera is better.

My girlfriend had her 2018 Pinnacle Dolomite stolen today.
Colour light blue as per picture, but since that was taken it has had WTB I23 wheels fitted which were running pasela tan walls, a nice Selle Italia cut saddle and Fabric (the brand bar tape). They also got away with Altura panniers attached to a Tortec rack. The bike was stolen from White City, while in her work's "secure" cycle storage.
Thank you to anybody who might spot something on gumtree etc.
:(

Anyone had a Raleigh shopper type bike stolen? Found one on the street, let me know if it’s yours or someone you know and we can reunite with owner

Just for awareness…..
Seen this Dosnoventa added to eBay…. Look slightly dodgy to me with limited info and seller with no feedback and registered in 2023.
Maybe I’m wrong but thought to raise it just incase someone has lost one

Hey, I’m sorry but it’s not this :-/
Won’t help today but you can get a cheap remote controlled vibration alarm and screw or glue it to the inside of the door on the most sensitive setting. A blaring alarm at 4am draws more attention than random rustling and metallic noises.
