They are a lot more than you think they are!
I was shocked too

Thats true :)

Removing rotating bezel to clean - how wary must I be? How differently do different watch brands/models behave? Should I used a caseback knife or something else?
-
• #73855
That just looks like a Vostok to me.

Butter knife on an SKX, slid under and rotated to pry up the bezel, done it a few times, no issues.
Would be more cautious if it was a Pelagos

new zenith... mostly looks like old zenith
At only twice the price too - Zenith, how you spoil us!

Name a major watch brand that isnt doing the same recently.
-
• #73859
All the cost is in the movement, which you can’t even see on the SeaQ (solid caseback). The rest of the watch looks roughly Seiko Prospex quality.

As good as doubled their retail price whilst keeping the product pretty much the same? I don’t follow things that closely but I struggle for immediate other examples of others who have done this. Maybe the Speedmaster? I didn’t think they doubled the price and they did tinker with it.

What teeth is it thread ->

What was the price before? I thought anything with an El Primero movement was well over seven grand these days.
In 2017 a brand new Moonwatch was about three thousand.

IIRC about £4.5 - £5k retail (IIRC - I was considering one at the time, so did a fair bit of digging around), but at a certain point in 2019, they could be had at retail for £3.5-£4k (discounted). Even last year they cost less than the Revivals and the Chronometer Sport. Now they cost more / the same.

A high quality Seiko 5 then. Cheers.

if its 30 grams in the hand like the omega/swatch, then its not super confidence inspiring ... i was underwelmed with the omega and i really wanted to like it...
edit
just saw its an automatic!!! well well well :) this changes things even tho is 375 chf ... -

This 10 year old movement inside. It'll be as cheaply made as the moonswatch to maintain their optimal 90% profit margin it has to be the cheapest £350 watch you can buy. People will get excited and people will be disappointed. Unless your a flipper of course.

ye i agree 100% with you! for 375chf you can get awesome automatic watches!!
-
• #73871
I also don't follow things that closely but haven't Seiko done this? 5 series used to be sub £100 and then jumped to £200-£300.

these are very 'red trouser boat club brigade'. Do they come with a silk cord bracelet or do you have to buy one separately?

"that's a fun £59 watch"
That'll be £350 please
That’s interesting and also a shame, as that gets a lot of recommendations for an alternative high end BB58
Their marketing always seems to be low key
