  • Picked up some new Challenge Strada 700x40 tyres the other day...Never have I met a tighter tyre. Are they known to stretch over time? if not, I'll have to throw the bike away when they puncture.

They're still not seated properly on the rims either. Running tubes.

  • I recall my challenge tyres being hard to fit but were okay after a few months of riding

  • Ain't called challenge for no reason. Never again. Do stretch and a cinch to get on/off after a puncture. Lovely ride mind.

I've been contemplating getting a pair of these. Seem fast, but I've read some negative things about durability/puncture resistance, and as you say, ease of fitting. The guy at bicyclerollingresistance seems to think they have decent puncture protection though, so a little confused!

I'm mostly riding hardpack/light gravel, which is bone dry 99.9% of the time, so don't really need much tread and durability probably not such a major concern anyway. Want something that will also roll fast on tarmac as well.
