No worries, to be fair I went to London and happened to end up at Covent Garden so thought I would chance it at 5pm and low and behold they had this in stock
As it was my birthday it had to be done
But otherwise I had been looking at a Casio also

That Blancpain/Swatch release sucks because it gonna draw attention on Blancpain’s regular production, and they’re already expensive enough..
Milspec re-issue is definitively on my short-list

I like the square sub39 GMT but my watch budget is lower than my bike budget which is lower than my weekly lunch budget.

No level of heritage or historic significance can overcome the date window placement.

Ouch.

I think there has been like one FF reissue that wasn't either stupidly large or with that horrid date. Can't remember what it was called but I think it was quite limited edition. I really don't care for the Fifty Fathoms, personally, but I understand its historical significance. Don't hate Blancpain either.

This is the one to have I think

40mm and fifty pieces. Haven't looked at prices but I imagine they're eye-watering.

My friend sold one (on consignment) for $28k.
Ps there’s 500 of them, not 50.

Quite nice, it just seems too expensive, even being hand painted

One of the many Seiko modders would probably do you that for a couple of hundred.
-
• #73819
That's stunning
-
• #73820
That’s probably the one I was thinking of.
Arial for the bezel numerals though, lol

The 4 font choices you get on a petrol station business-card printing machine.

It's not a watch I'd even look at if I ever had that kind of money or any of the Bathyscaphe range for that matter. 5 fonts?

If I were to buy an older watch, say a Seiko diver from the 80s or 90s, what are the chances I could have it serviced to its stated water resistance?
I don't have my eye on anything at the moment, but there are lots of reasonably priced, 100m water resistant, watches on sale everywhere.

It’s likely you could. You’d need a competent watchmaker to replace all the seals and do a pressure test.
thx for the clarifications! i am looking for something to not worry too much about (casio duro maybe, difficult to do better for the price of those)
