why is it so sad
Working in a Wisconsin lumber yard is obviously not a joyful experience

Wouldn't you be?

Not sure what's going on here

I'm guessing he chose that frame for its billboard-like qualities

Top notch, a fine vintage.

It's a strong disagree from me. I REALLY like it.

Genius. One of those builds you could easily scroll past with a shrug, but when you take the time it's a gift that keeps on giving.

Super high carbon wheels with 32 spokes. Super fat headtube with skinny stem. Titanium seatpost with heavy leather saddle....

those things you have listed, nonsensical as they may be, are what I like about it. And I like the forks.

And a new twist on the champagne cork bar end, using the muselet.

It's pointless, heavy, unbalanced and ugly. Then again, so am I.

Yup, still love it. A Safety Pizza away from perfect.

Gah I posted this and now the poor guys bike is getting featured in the anti thread. The horror.
Reposting the prior iteration in his defence. Behind every anti theres a person with feelings who just wants to play biek like the rest of us.

That's not much better...

And everyone knows that it's impossible to enjoy riding a bike that strangers on the internet sneer at.

It definitely screams more money than sense, but the second build does have something going for it; the oddball fork kinda marks it as deliberately ugly and ties in with the yuck seatstays, the colours work now, and yes, the muselets (thanks for the new word, M_V) are inspired.
But 32h deep carbon is just so damn wrong, especially since the guy is nowhere near 200kg.

The fork deserves a discussion all its own. Is that titanium? Sure looks it. Someone went to a lot of trouble to create that abomination.
What's the point of it? And what's that little black line at the back of the crown? Can't be the cable entry; it's the wrong side.

And what's that little black line at the back of the crown?
Dynamo wire I’m guessing

Is this anti or is there some explanation?

Must be to counterbalance the oversized front rack
Wow. I think the Surely has gone so high with the stack it's come out the other side to get away with it. It just needs one continuous spacer to properly echo the seat post, and it's golden.
As for the Klein, those bars look cut down, so it's not a bad thing... Looks like crazy fun, and presumably ye olde Rev-Xes are a bit less fragile in 650. I think I'd bugger off any extraneous colour and just let that amazing paint do the talking, though.
