Got there in the end. Just dipped the whole thing then rinsed thoroughly and used a compressor to blow out any liquid left in the nooks and crannies.
Will report back if I lose a crank mid ride.

Ha, I feel that if you buy a polishing wheel then you really should use it at least once a year…

How do I remove decals on silver stems? I've successfully done a few black ones in the past with nail varnish remover, but on the latest silver one (Kalloy again) the godawful logo is not going anywhere...

• #118559
Is the logo non-anodised base metal?
-
• #118560
It looks applied. Just very well, unlike the ones on black stems.

Is all pva glue the same?
I need to seal some bricks and plaster that I've chased into. I could go to Screwfix, but I have a load of this and I only need a bit.

Tips on slightly repositioning an SPD cleat once it has bitten into the plastic cleat plate on a new pair of shoes. I know the answer is you can’t but, please, humour me and tell me a way…
-

Loosen it, move it, tighten it.

humour me
The deformation is depressed grooves and raised ridges. If you grind the ridges in the sole back to the base level, you'll form a flat which the ridge on the cleat will bite into instead of sliding back into the original position due to ridge-to-ridge contact

I had been thinking about that and making a little sanding block to knock the tops off. The cleats have only been tightened in for 24 hours, so I’ve slackened it off completely in case the surface of the material settles back. Might get lucky.

Dremeled my s-works shoes, they’re fine (not carbon sole).

Came here to also recommend dremel. I’ve used these to do the same.

Where can one find brake cable with barrels on both ends. Need it to repair a proprietary braking system.
Edit: the cable needs to already be in its housing, about 1.4m long.

Interested in getting off-grid power to the van for next spring/summer camping season through portable solar solutions.
What brands are the ones to go for?
I've seen Bluetti, Ecoflow, Jackery. Anyone else worth looking into who can offer good VFM ?
Thanks -

My wife follows this stuff, she says check out jasonoid and hobotech on youtube. She recommends LIFEPO4 > Lithium Ion for battery life and safety.

Dunno about one with 2 fixed barrels, but if you get stuck, maybe look at cable knarps?
Look for merino, cashmere, alpaca, mohair, angora, qiviut, angora, camel, vicuna, llama … basically any other than standard sheeps wool will reduce the itch factor.
