Mess? What mess

Looking more high tech than the grow-op down the road that got raided last month.
Great stuff. -

I think I’m going to go for it. Pay day in a couple days.
I actually need to take all the glass out of our green house and rotate 90 degrees so I can fix all this irrigation stuff up then.

Ace, do it! Another tip I picked up when joining all the hoses and bits, is to have a thermos of hot water in which you can dip the pipe for ten seconds to soften it before jabbing it over the barbed part of the connector.

I want to plant more beans and pulses this year but it’s a whole new world for me, other than B-road beans.
What others can I plant now?

I’ve been offered greenhouses in the past but never convinced I’d be diligent enough with labelling sections to be able to reassemble it. Not like a timber structure where if in doubt you can throw more screws in.
That does look stonkingly good though.. -

Camera phone and a chalk marker for labelling, I bought ours on eBay with zero regrets! Although transporting all that glass in a van was a bit twitchy.

You’d be surprised. Though it does make getting new glass more difficult

I thought you were meant to stop picking rhubarb after the summer solstice to allow the plant time to recover and build reserves to last through the winter?

The trick is to take apart as little as possible

I also thought it was because the acid content is higher and can upset your stomach
-

Yeah I’ve heard that too (monty, naturally). I didn’t pick much earlier in the year and there was so much that I didn’t to waste it. There’s still about a third of the stems left and I’ll chuck some compost on in a month or so and hope for the best.

I've lost all 7 tomato plants to blight. But a few of the fruits look ok, are they safe to eat?
Any tips, I have heard I shouldn't replant tomatoes in the same place for 4 years? -

It’s a true story. There seems to be less blight in a greenhouse, but Thant might be from cleaning it regularly.
I don’t think it will harm you at all. But disclaimer I’m not qualified to make that claim.

I lost all 16 tomato plants last year to blight, have planted 8 plants in same spot this year and I am now totally drowning in them . Picture of 3 large carrier bags full I picked today here (if it uploads successfully).
Think it is driven by what variety you plant rather than where they are planted, and also the prevailing conditions of course, this year I planted Blush, Crush, Cherry, Plum and Marmande.

I will add that this year I used grafted plants, they are ridiculously good, got 8 plants from Dobies for 5.99 on a special offer they ran
Please excuse the general mess.
