Beautiful.

Certainly is. Rides really well and certainly a nicer bike than she needed.
No sniffs yet.
Might need to advertise it elsewhere as her new bike arrives later this week.

It is mint and perfect for the tourer I'm currently convincing partner to hunt for. However about twice the budget 🥲

I am open to a cheeky offer but not half price!
It is as you say absolutely mint and definitely a keeper. Silver Campagnolo will always look timeless and the Athena level stuff is the last of the well built polished components that Campagnolo made. No plastic bits anywhere and properly built to last.
Have a look down the back of the sofa?

I have one of these as my 'other' bike. Just trying to convince my partner we should have matching bikes

You know it makes sense!

Can I borrow your sofa? Mine definitely doesn't have 350 quid stuffed down the back of it 🤣🤣
-

Should have gone to DFS! You get 14 years to pay interest free and £350 down the back of every sofa.

No cross-posting adverts you've put on other sites. If you have an
item for sale anywhere other than here, like ebay, bikeradar, ctc,
retrobike, etc. then you cannot post it here. -
• #12
I have removed the ad from the other site. Not sure why it matters but I have left this one live. After how long do the moderators think it is reasonable to try elsewhere?

Too small for 5’7” normal proportions? I think so probably, definitely according to the genesis website, which is a shame because groupset is great

For reference, the bike as pictured has a top of saddle to ctr bb measurement of 72cm. The tip of saddle to ctr bar measurement (with a 90mm stem) is 47cm. The saddle to top of bar drop is 6cm. Maybe see how those numbers compare to your current bike?
You could comfortably fit a longer stem and push the saddle back. The bars are already wide enough at 40cm.
At 5ft 3in she ran the saddle very low, had her bars very high and the frame was probably a little bit too big for her. She was at the very extreme of the fit at one end of the spectrum.
You are welcome to try it for size, but depending on your measurements I think 5ft 7in with average proportions might work.

Thank you. I will investigate. My current bike has a 63cm frame, and the woman who’d be riding this doesn’t have a bike currently…! I can put her on something in a bike shop and do some thinking/calculating/ scheming

Just checked out the geometry and I think it might be a Genesis 'Small' which according to Genesis will suit unto 5ft 7in. I think my original measurements might have been a little off. I will confirm in the morning.

Pending measurements I’m keen!

Exact measurements.
Seat tube 50.5cm ctr top, 45.5cm ctr ctr
Top tube 53cm horizontal
Crown race to top of steerer 22cm
The forks have a relatively long axle to crown measurement of 401mm which makes the front end marginally higher than the steel forked version.Depending on where you are based I am happy to meet up somewhere.

Nice roads for a CDF!
This has been my wife’s bike. Which means I built her a bike way beyond her needs that she has ridden maybe 5 times! The only thing that sets it apart as a women’s build is the saddle and I will swap that over as she would like to keep it. She is 5ft 3in but it would suit a few inches either side of that.
She has since decided that she wants a mountain bike, which in all honesty suits her needs for a family bimble a little better.
So here we have for sale an immaculate example of a really well spec’d Croix de Fer with the much sought after carbon fork upgrade.
Frame and Fork - Genesis Croix de Fer (Genesis size small). Lots of steerer tube remaining so plenty to trim if you want a more aggressive position.
Headset - FSA cartridge
Chainset - Campagnolo Centaur 170mm, 50/34. These are the Ultra Torque version. The nicest modern silver chainset that Campagnolo make in my opinion.
Shifters - Campagnolo Athena 11 speed, set up with additional Cane Creek Crosstop levers for braking on the tops.
Front and Rear Mechs - Campagnolo Athena 11 speed
Cassette - Campagnolo Chorus 12-30
Brakes - Hayes CX Expert. Fantastic brakes set up with compression less housing so sharp and sensitive braking.
Wheels - Mavic Aksium Disc with DT RWS skewers
Tyres - Panaracer Gravel King 38mm
Bars - Deda 40mm
Stem - Deda 90mm
Seatpost - Deda 27.2mm
Saddle - I will fit the Nukeproof saddle that comes with her new bike.
All in brilliant condition, absolutely nothing to do to it at all.
It has rack and fender eyelets so would make a great commuter or tourer but it is currently set up for fast gravel/CX.
£700
I am in Guildford but work in Wimbledon and happy to travel. Also happy to package it up and post it.
PM for any closeup photos of any of the components.
