Maralunga sofa? V nice

Yeah, found it quite difficult to find something we liked. Preferred the look of a low back sofa but wanted something we could sit back on.
Very pleased with it!

I’ve never seen one IRL and always wondered how the bike chain mechanism works? Is there a handle somewhere or do you just push the back up?
-

There's a piece of chain either side of the headrest, and they can move independently.
You just kneel on the sofa and push it up or down to move it. Ours are quite stiff, but they loosen up over time/with use.

Wondered if this would be a good place to ask....
I need to stain a raw pine bed a teak colour ideally to match a waxed teak set of drawers.
Does anyone have any product recommendations? I'm guessing stain, wipe, wax?
Was hoping to find a teak tinted Danish Oil, but this does not seem to exist.

I found the technical team at Wood Finishes Direct helpful when I was doing a similar project.
Osmo seem to have a teak oil woodstain that could suit and a clear wax could be applied if you want a consistent finish.
TBH, I'd be temped to order a few samples pots including the above and these to see which gets you closest and bypass the need for a wax finish.

Thanks a lot.
It's funny, because searching for teak coloured staines, etc. is incredibly hard as all the search terms get jumbled and promote teak oil.

Also do we use another term? I was sure stain was what I was after, but is there something else like dye?

Anyone interested in this floor lamp for £50? My gf bought it from Heals for £200. Has a nice warm cadex bulb in it.
Collection e5 by clapton overground though it’s a delicate one to carry.

Ideas for nice swivel/reclining chairs that don't look like they belong in old people's home?
Vitra Grand Repos but not on a vitra budget.

I picked up a Montis Enzo with a swivel base from a Viaduct sample sale and it’s very comfy

Not teak but I used liberon wood dye basically to try and get some pine offcuts to look like IKEA for a home made headboard and it was amazing. But also very much needed three coats of varnish over the top.

I think we may have used that. I went for a wax.
It's OK, not exactly like teak, but it now fits in/doesn't stand out.

Probably a bit late now but I’ve used scratch remover to restain teak. Can find out the product later and show an example if needed when I get home

Ordered a Togo sofa and managed to knock 20% off - which takes it to something approaching pre-pandemic pricing. Just a reminder that it's always worth pushing for a deal, whether from online or bricks and mortar store

That's interesting - where from (if you don't mind me asking)?

Chaplins https://chaplins.co.uk/ are open to some negotiation in my experience. Think all the togos had a price rise on 1st Oct.

It’s for my daughters playroom which will double up as an additional bedroom should we ever need it and so the fact it’s easy to move around and easy to clamber on is what sold it.
A minor celebration, we've been renovating for 4 years and have just bought our first sofa!
