Shoegaze seems pretty big at the moment. Not sure if it's because a few of the originals have been coming back recently so interest has returned, or if they've been coming back because the interest has naturally come back around to it but I've been hearing quite a lot of shoegaze/adjacent stuff from newer bands.
I reckon it's the lockdowns that lead to a bunch of music folk getting bored and so they bought a bunch of pedals.

This week I saw a middle aged guy in a Ride t-shirt and a young woman (in my little, sleepy suburban street!) with a Slowdive tote slung over her shoulder. Fucking. Wild.
