  • I was thinking something printed in TPU, but it quickly stops being a bodge and becomes an engineered solution...

  • maybe with a hole and position for captive nyloc nut it so it can be secured?

  • I thought the clamping force from the bracket would be sufficient - possibly with a bit of double sided tape to hold everything in place during assembly?
If you want nyloc, the swept volume for the Tara needs to move across to make space for it - possibly not a bad thing in that it would allow some (slight) variation in height according to orientation when fitting. Alternatively, the clamping surface for the bracket could be a larger diameter - my arbitrary 25mm is probably on the small side anyway.
Picture assumes M4 nyloc + M4 x 10 pan head screw. By way of attempting a higher level hack / bodge, it would be interesting to see if I can upload the .stl file, and what your slicing software at work makes of it...

  • This is a long way beyond buying a bottle of wine for the cork...

  • Wine is haraam, 3D printing is the path to jannah. I'll send it over to someone who can do the 3D prints.

  • Alcohol free wine, although it'll probably be a screw top.

  • There must be something I've missed... Restaurants will gladly give you all the corks you want? And that would be more environmentally friendly than 3d printing something.

  • If anyone wants a cork I will post them one for free. Any excuse to open a bottle.

  • WAY too much work has gone into this already

  • I wanna know how you got your feet up there…

  • Or who is under the table ;)

  • Wine drinkers DNI.

  • Looks promising - when I did something similar (Knog to Pletscher rack on a Raleigh Twenty) it needed several changes to the design before I was happy - let me know if you need the kind of modifications that can't be done with a file...

  • The Carradice Bagman QR bodge bar mount is born. Or the CBGQRBBM for short.

Needs some fettling, maybe a strap to help hold it down, and some foam between the bagman and stem.

  • And a photo of the mount itself - pretty straightforward.

  • Slick, these mid size Carradice bags look great on the front of bikes.

  • Yeah the Nelson is an ideal size - and should fit more comfortably on the bike I’ve made the mount for. It’s a bit squished on those 38cm wide bars, but hoping it’ll sit a bit nicer on my Muddy fox with its nice and wide rando bars.

  • that looks great, What stem is that? i'm looking at something similar but mounting it to the faceplate bolts instead

  • Ritchey Classic c220. Although it’s actually for mounting on a different bike with a quill stem. I just wanted to see what it’d fit like and couldn’t be bothered getting the other bike out the shed, lol.

  • Fits great! Could maybe be a few mm wider or larger in diameter but not really a big deal. Also might be worth having the bolt be on top of the rail not underneath for more clearance but this certainly works
