If you were left to fix your own punctures you’d still be stood on that muddy gravel track in Herts / on the side of a mountain in Mallorca / on matching green etc etc

There is another slightly cheaper alternative to the Fillmore valves, looks interesting and you can take it apart.

Also using these on the MTB and they have even higher air flow than Fillmore copies: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000484255085.html

Thank you, found another listing but it's a minefield with traditional presta and no core mixed in the same listing.

also I didnt need any pump adapter using a silca pump and a bontrager pump, if you have thread on pumps you might need one. Personally I'd bin all Lezyne pumps.

I definitely want a Granite Santa Aircock.

Great vid. Crazy how restrictive standard presta cores are. I would have used Schraeder if it was an option but not willing to drill out my deep carbon rims haha. I used to pull out the core when trying to seat the bead to get enough airflow and looks like it makes a massive difference.
Only problem I found with that method is once you remove the pump/tank you quickly have to replace the core to stop the air shooting out. Some combinations of tyre and rim could unseat if I didn’t do it quickly enough. Which is probably why I like the Fillmore design.

I did consider these but you need to carry an adaptor if you have thread on chucks (which I have a lot of) which turned me off them.

Those combinations are unfit for purpose and should not be used. They will also unseat if you puncture, which wipes out the single actual good thing about tubeless.

A patch is the durable solution.
I have also had success with a temporary solution using one of those superglue pens and fill up the gash.
This sometimes leads to the hole opening up again. I clean the gash up with a knife. 80% succes rate. -

Jumped on the Cycle to Work scheme and got myself first ever new (gravel) bike which I specced with Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels .
Looking for a sound advice on alternatives to use as road set up with some 28-30mm road tyres - shall I get something like Hunt 4 Season gravel wheels and use Ksyriums as road or get a set of road wheels instead and keep existing set for those canal path rides? Other wheelsets recommendations for around £500 mark?
O F... wrong section, sorry
how fucking much?!?
