have you checked if there are any updates available?
sometimes new phones out of the box have missed a few since being packaged up at the factory. -

Possible SIM damage?

Firefox on my phone has suddenly switched to having the tabs / URL / menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
At first I thought "What The Fuck?" but after ten minutes, it is obviously brilliant.

Too old to change?

The thing with having something stay in one place is, it's fast, because you know exactly where it is, so I can bash around FF quickly without having to stall because some dickhead UXer moved the menu to the bottom of the page, where no menus are normally found.
"Too good at x to bother with y"

For people who still think that, there's a switch in the settings (under "customise") to change from top to bottom

Any recommendations for small android phone? My Sony Experia XZ1 compact is feeling a bit ancient now. I'd like something with more memory (currently 32GB which is always full of stuff that can't be moved to SD card), better camera (but it's relative, doesn't need to be 'pro'), cheaper than an iPhone 13 mini (and Android) and suitable for someone who doesn't change phones very often...
I suppose a headphone socket is out of the question these days? I got Bluetooth headphones a while ago expecting to love them, but wired they sound better and most noticeably on calls the wired mic is much better.

I know nothing of the spec, but I use a Galaxy S10e which is a) small b) has a headphone socket c) reasonably cheap (for a refurb) which are pretty much my only phone requirements. The back and front glass are badly cracked due to shutting it in a car door, when I get round to changing it I will just get another one

A recurring theme on here, still little sign of any interest in the rest of the world.

Samsung A41 is a very similar size for people who want something cheaper than a Galaxy S

A refurbished Pixel 4a from Backmarket
Nice size, headphone jack, decent camera, massive memory.

Just order me a Pixel 7 Pro, down from £850 to £700 then with a trade in down to £500. Quite pleased with that.

We've got an airtag in the cargo bike, which I ride. It's set up on my wife's iPhone as I'm an Android user.
I now get an alert every time I ride it warning me that someone's tracking me. Is there any way to disable this notification? Googling just leads me to ways to disable the airtag itself.

Maybe your wife wants to track you :)

How does it talk to your phone? If you disable NFC and Bluetooth will it shutup?
-
• #22673
If it's just a notification then you've got pretty good control over them from long pressing on it.

S10e is great, mine is going on 4y. The A41 is missing the IP68 rating, and I've really found wireless charging useful at my desk/bedside.
The battery is on its last legs, so it might get replaced by a refurb. The S22 is very similar in size, but is obvs a chunk more expensive. -

That's impressive.
I still begrudge the £400 I paid for a Pixel6a about a year ago.
I wouldn't expect this. I've had no issues with mine. Can you put your SIM in another phone just to check that your phone signal isn't shit at the time and place you're at? @picco
