Yeah I was the same previously. Had some points here and there from the game pass rewards but not much and then recently bought a game that gave some rewards back as well which meant I had enough for a £5 voucher. Ended up looking into it and found the subreddit for it which breaks it down. Basically log on to Bing browser and click rewards on the top right and there's daily things to do which gives a few points and then searches on phone and web give some more with daily streaks and stuff adding up too. Also if you have the xbox app you get points for just opening that up, and you can get more for playing a level of their Jewel game. More points for 'Playing a Game with Friends on PC' but you can just load up AoE2 and sit in a lobby for a bit which I do in the background, there's people set up lobbies specifically for the points. Also look for the rewards app on the Xbox itself which has other tasks, but most of those are linked to the bing searches and using Microsoft Edge a few days in a row. Finally then there's the Game Pass rewards which I never really bothered with, but the weekly/monthly ones like 'Play this Game' or 'Get 25 kills in this game' are actually really simple to do just loading up the game on the cloud gaming and going through them, and it works obviously because I've ended up playing a few of the games fully through after this when I wouldn't have noticed them previously.
It's worth holding the points until you find something you want to redeem as vouchers bought through it have to be used within a few months (the xbox ones at least). You can get vouchers for a load of non-microsoft xbox stuff too. Looks like you can get a 3 month Game Pass ultimate pass for 35,000 points which I might redeem when I get to it as think I'll easily be able to do that within every 3 month period.
One note if you do get into it, watch out if you try logging in when travelling as it can block and lock your account for good according to people on the subreddit.
Wasn't even aware of this, I've got some points but not enough for a voucher yet
