  • I'm claiming the Glenfinglas climb as the hardest gravel climb in the country (that you'd want to bother doing).

Ever done the climb from the the north end of Loch Turret?

I don't even really know if it's rideable at all. I've always been on a singlespeed mtb when I've been up there and that did not cut the mustard. Even pushing up it is pretty minging, I think you gain a thousand feet of elevation in a thousand metres of distance so what's that? 30%?

Views and descent back down to the distillery make it all worth while.

  • Thought I'd replied to this. I haven't done that climb no. Does it go anywhere? or out and back?

Perhaps the caveat is the hardest "rideable" climb by mere mortals.

Can definitely make it a loop. Once you do the climb there’s some undulating riding along the top of the hills, it’s lovely, real up in the clouds stuff, then you get a banging descent down to Monzie/Gilmourton kind of area. You can head north at one point and go out towards Sma Glen. Might be possible to get to the Glen Almond track even.
