The above had got me thinking I might give the series a go since I've never played it and it's supposed to be so good. The minute of gameplay in this video makes me think actually maybe I won't. Did they upload the wrong video or something?

It's from the Switch version, so 720p @ 30fps. I believe the full console versions are going to be 1080p @ 60fps.
But yeah, not a massive improvement on the old HD Collection IMO.
I'm mostly planning to pick it up so I can have it on my Switch as opposed to digging out (and charging) my Vita.
To confuse matters further, on top of this version. There's also a proper remake of MGS3 on the cards:
