  • Does the Brompton Hive mind have any thoughts or experiences with the electric P and C lines?
Is it worth upgrading to a P or does the increased weight of the motor make it slightly meaningless?

  • Don’t buy an electric Brompton would be my take.

The weight difference is noticeable though and the P-line overall just feels a bit nicer

  • I've had an electric for a few years. They are considerably heavier. It's possible to lug it about shops etc. but not fun. The motor will overcome the weight difference when you are cycling. The small weight difference between P&C when you're carrying it might make a difference but you won't know until you start carrying it in different situations.

I've really enjoyed it, they seem to have ironed out early problems with the battery connector and motor bearings. I have a normal one as well which I enjoy but the electric one allows me to carry 25+kgs of tools and materials around London and still do 8hrs work. It's a good replacement for a moped in that situation.

  • I sacked my electric c line urban off and bought a P line (non electric).
I think electric p lines's defeating the object a bit!
