Seeking a recommentation ... I've got a mate doing the TCR and he's after a good quality workshop to do a full service/rebuild of his bike before then.
Can anyone suggest a workshop in SW London they'd recommend with confidence?

I'd make the journey to Ratrace in Crystal Palace. Pete is experienced with all things TCR.

Hi all,
Do you all have a recommendation for a good bike shop (servicing) in the archway/tufnell park/Holloway road area?
Clever like was my go-to option but I don't know where to go now that they have closed. -

The London cycle workshop has a branch near the junction, always had a good experience from them.
Apex on the high Street have been round forever, brixton cycles round the corner for the forum approved workshop, would be my pick.

Public information broadcast.
Every carbon/rapha/Strava lovers favourite northern bike shop/ coffee house, Service Course Whimsylow, has shut it's doors (for good, it would appear).

I used to complain about bike shops no longer being like how I used to know them, and been explained (sometimes told off) by fellow forum members why this kind of business model can (sadly) no longer survive. I get it, I no longer complain, and promise it's not my intention to open a debate here...
I'm lucky enough to be on holiday in my homeland atm, and came across this amazing shop, where we've just rented a kids trailer (we took our Bromptons with us). It is just like my LBS when I was a kid. Incredible place, been like this for decades I reckon. In this case their business model is (now) mostly about renting bikes to legions of tourists so there's hope they'll be around for a long time... Anyway, just wanted to share pictures.

Was in Wilmslow at the weekend, and disappointed to discover this.
Wilmslow, by the way, is mad. It has a Patek Phillipe dealership, a Rolex dealership an Aston Martin dealership, but a pint in the local pub is still just £4.30.

Strange times for bike dealerships.
When I lived inthe Isle of Man there were a handful of LBS's which were able to survive/prosper in a poulation of around 80K due to the popularity o cycling on the Island. Recently though I understand that business has become tougher. Participation in competitive cyling has fallen away (100 plus for a midweek 10, ten yeears ago to now between 30-40).
I now live in Belper near Derby and I think a form of the trradtional LBS will be the norm. This will be the repair shop as opposed to bike or kit dealer as that seems to now be inthe domain of the internet. -

Not local, and imaginary to an extent, but this remains my favorite page in the Sempé book of New Yorker covers.

Has anyone used StowVelo? Just moved round the corner from there, would be very handy to have a quality workshop right on my doorstep
