My first brand new Rolex, having always purchased used before. Had to have this one as the green exactly matches my business colour way.

Lovely. Been on “the list” for that one in 36mm for a long time now. Best colour IMHO.

Not a fun of the "marketing" on it though (lower text and the Rolex all around the dial)

Trying the Milanese, quite like it on the Tissot.
Very comfortable.

Those are sort of non-negotiables with Rolex at this point.

One more reason I don't like Rolex (90% because I can't afford one)

And a not-for-profit companies so they can pay less taxes.

Yeah, this I genuinely hate. It seems so slimy to be registered as a charity and conjures up everything linked with shady Swiss bank practices. Can someone shed more light on it, no one seems to ever discuss it online?? Is it simply tax related as you say or more than that?

Super Blue Moon = Moonswatch limited edition 4386?

It seems all charitable work is shared here, plus, it seems, there is lots donated in a more discreet way according to some online sources.

You’ll literally never know where the money really goes. They clearly do give a lot of money to charity - they have to to maintain their non-profit status - and apparently there are a lot more secret charitable donations apart from the ones they talk about on rolex.org. Eg Wilsdorf was an orphan and orphanages have always been one of the things they support. But their structure and status in Swiss law means they don’t have to disclose much, if anything, of their financials.
I would say that I think they probably do more “good” overall than any other watch brand, but it’s very much in that rich-person philanthropy style that takes full advantage of the tax breaks.

I guess anyone on a list with WOS group or any other AD your wait just got even longer -

On the are Rolex bastards chat: if you have a problem with them you surely should also dislike Richemont and LVMH? And Swatch are a bit in likeable too.
And then your choice of luxury watches becomes somewhat limited. -

The sliding prices have quelled any thought of buying second hand for me, I’ll wait and see if I ever get the call from the AD.

Yes not a fan of the 'chocolate box' era Rolex. Industrial Design in many areas seemed to peak after the war. Maybe because hand made was still hand made.
