  • Do miss my 2007 Coiler. It looks completely alien to me looking back on it now but it was my first mountain bike and I had a lot of fun on it!

  • My 2005 Santa Cruz Nomad.1 (custom painted) was also an incredibly fun bike and do miss. Apologies for NDS fail. Also a photo of me trying my hardest to get shreddy at Revolution on it...

  • I'm curious how a bike like this handles

  • The bike that got me back into biking. I inherited it off a friend and I did a 1x conversion (slap on the wrist) with discs. Was great fun and I do miss it (pinched).

  • like a flickknive i suspect

  • nice clean frame. steel frames with ec34 headsets just look right.

  • Early 90s are discounted probably right? If the door opens a little wider I can do a readers '94 gary fisher with a triple, otherwise I'll just scroll and look and try and work out what the hell is going on with MTBs

  • Surely that goes in the Retro Mountain Bikes thread if it’s early 90s?…

  • There it is!!! How'd ya get to the battle without it 🤷

  • Ah ok I'm not abreast of the MTB chat in here

  • My DMR Trailstar. Bought in 2009 as my first 'expensive' bike. Downtube didn't have any bottle cage mounts so made a lovely resonant ping when you hit it. 25.4mm high rise Funn bars, CNC stem, LX triple, red ano jockey wheels.

Later converted to SS with Carrera Subway forks, which made it even steeper.

  • seatstay disc mounts on a steel frame with no brace, this is the '00s way 🤘

  • Yeah, was a dream bike really. If I still had it I think I would have done something even more sacrilegious and put drops on it for some #nogravel fun...

  • Like a stepladder

  • 2009 hunter cycles, foreshadowing 2020s rivendells

  • Spesh Enduro FSR 2001 with early noughties camera quality too.

Currently in bits in my garage but it's unlikely to ever be built up again as all the pivot bearings are shot.

  • Would anyone be interested in a Kona Cowan frame? It was my old runaround and although has been in a shed for years and I’ve harvested a lot of parts off it I think there’s a half decent frame under there still.

  • A type of bike I want but do not need.
    What's the crankset, looks cool!

  • Looks like a DMR 3-piece

  • Think you might be right on this - DMR rings a bell.

  • Thanks! Don't want nobody a kewl park bike?
I am really unfortunately too old for that shit.

  • Are you bollocks!

A type of bike I want but do not need.

Get some wheels and retro gears on it and behold its ability to ride over anything. You know you want it!

  • These are so cool. I was in two minds when I was buying my first mtb about whether to go for an old explosif like that, a similar rigid, or a new unit. Opted for the unit and am happy, but can't say I don't fancy one of these too. Won't be too long before I get this, or an inbred.
