+1 on Edifiers.
I bought some new Edifier S1000DB for about £140 as a short-term solution, and was shocked at how good they are for the price. Definitely lacking in some areas, but once on stands and connected to a reasonable phono preamp, they sound decent and are very practical (bluetooth). Look smart for the money as well.

Considering getting rid of my Cambridge Audio AM5 Topaz and the Sx50's and going towards something pre-amped like them you have for sake for simplicity, connectivity and power consumption also could have them in my workstation desk if I want.
Got plexmedia server running too which I can't be bothered to get a streamer for it and my raspberryPi is atm doing other more useful things.
Got a huge digital library, and a fiio x3mkii that does DAC on my phone l, PC and also hires player, the physical stuff is back home can't justify going this route, unless someones sugests me something enlighting.
I would get these, they’re very well reviewed, do everything you need and they mean you don’t have to go down the hifi rabbit hole which is best avoided if you’re indifferent to it anyhow.
