My wife's bike got a new rack yesterday. The basket alone wasn't enough carrying capacity so the Surly rack was a good option to add some big panniers for groceries etc.
The plan is to get a bigger Manivelle basket as well, through @Tijmen and have him make a framebag and a basket bag for it.
I am going to make a rear rack for my cargo bike so I can use the panniers as well.
