My wife makes small cages/supports out of willow - if you can find a large tree nearby you can harvest some and weave it together.
A bit like this but less substantial to make it less visible.

Helps if you keep them well watered, but sometimes they just flower whatever you do.
Bees and butterflies love the flowers if you aren't able to eat it all in time. -

I lopped off the bolted head from our broc and we’ve eaten what grew after but it tasted a bit cabbagy. Might just have been the variety though

Aw shit. Found a wasps nest by getting stung out the blue. It’s at knee level in a bush. You can see a tunnel and wasps flying in. Any DIY ideas where I don’t die?

Burn the whole site down. It’s the only way to be sure.
Or just try and avoid that spot til winter, then ditch the old nest and hopefully they won’t come back..Wild garlic bulbs just arrived - plant them straight in the ground or get them started in pots?

Nice! Is that one at the bottom a summer squash? Looks a bit more wintery.

Ah yeah probably, it was just resting in the soil so I tried to lift it up and get something underneath to elevate it a bit and stop any rot, but it came off in my hand....

Ah, I’ve done that before. And have also used a buggy to transport a squash.

Also autumn seeds coming up fast. Haven’t been up much this week and a couple of beds have gone bonkers with weeds again.

I really enjoy your regular updates, it's the kick up the arse I need to get up there and do something, anything...
Top tips, thanks. I went with a few different varieties this year but mains gamble has failed.
