The BBC can’t even get the day right and lead with ‘cyclist dies after colliding with car’, arseholes.

I sent them an email, they corrected the date and changed the headline.

Just to clarify: The article you've linked to says it happened at the junction of the A11 Newmarket Road with Albemarle Road, but the earlier article in the Norwich Evening News (https://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/23735064.newmarket-road-norwich-closed-following-serious-incident/) says: 'Newmarket Road in Norwich was closed this afternoon (August 20) after a crash by Daniels Road.'
Presumably, that's meant to say Newmarket Road was closed from the Daniels Road/Mile End Road roundabout rather than that the crash happened there?
Do you know anything else about the crash? Was it between a left-turning driver and a rider going straight ahead? I'm obviously not assuming you could just rush out onto the street.

Here's the BBC article:

(This also says that there was another rider down (and taken to hospital) on Bishop Bridge Road the next day--this turns out to have happened at the Kett's Hill roundabout: https://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/23735749.cyclist-taken-hospital-ketts-hill-crash-norwich/)

** From my colleague, who didn’t witness it, but was at the scene moments after it happened and spent the rest of the day making tea and generally looking after the emergency teams. It looks like the rider was coming from Daniel’s roundabout along the cycle way, thought the road works and past albemarle road junction and the driver has pulled out from there
please don’t read on
and over her. The car ended up in the middle of the road with the rider still under it. Fire crew used air jacks to lift the car. She was pronounced dead at that point. You can still clearly see where they finally stopped
there are signs out as well as flowers and I still got driven at by a driver this morning and last night at the same spot and people are still cutting down there at way over the posted 20mph to get to unthank road 1 minute sooner.

Thanks, I did think that looked like a rat-run. Very upsetting. RIP unknown victim.

I heard about this moments after it happened, as it was outside my workplace and a colleague rang to be sure it wasn’t me. Victim is a 60 year old woman, pronounced dead at the scene.
The TV crews are here now.
Sad and angry, it happened at a set of roadworks, how?
Words are useless.
