I rode it with a mate, and he'd come through, do a short turn, then pull to the side, so I'd go back to doing longer turns. Eventually he sheepishly admitted that he had bad guts and was moving to the side so as not to fart in front of me. I made him sit on for the rest of the climb.
The decent down to Susa is fun.

Haha Sometimes there's benefits of riding solo.
I lied, it looked beautiful when I was up there, I'm just a much worse photographer than Will I Am.

When the shame of putting your hands up too early in a sprint is so great they don't even show your face.

We spent part of our honeymoon half way down the mont cenis descent, here Chalet sul lago Hotel a Moncenisio
Very recommended. There's also a great polentaria restaurant in the same village

Is this the 'most obviously doped cyclist' thread? Can't stand the man, but his analysis is generally pretty good.

What does this mean on the "cycling iceberg"?

Not sure which line you're referring to exactly, but possibly this?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jul/17/italy-remembers-gino-bartali-cycling-hero-save-jews-nazisThe iceberg is epic but it should be the woman in white not women and that's bothering me...

Bartali was involved in the resistance to help Jews during the war.
The Criterium des As was an end of season race for the big names. -

Not even an hour long. Not even half an hour.

He did break the record so bound to be shorter than an hour?

Very late to the party, but finally got round to watching Unchained. Can understand if there wasn't much there for diehard followers, but I thought it was an excellent insight into a sport that can be baffling to the outsider. Can definitely see it helping to attract new fans and thought it was pitched at a level where there was something lots for the casual follower. It's hooked my wife for sure, which is great as she's happy to have the Vuelta on now and I may actually stand a chance of going to watch in person next year. Saying that, she does also now want to divorce me to go live with Thibaut and his goats on a farm.

Lotto-Dstny sexpest Allan Davies sacked by the team after his unsolicited sexual approaches to at least two women, probably more.

Note that the story about Bartali smuggling identity documents for Italian Jews is disputed.

(I have no idea what's true either way.)

It was because of the colour formatting that it looked like a whole sentence:
"Bartali jews Criterium des As Knecht WC"
Not only did it make no sense but it also sounded very wrong.

Did manage to sit through couple of hours of https://charingcrosstheatre.co.uk/theatre/glory-ride, never thought cycling can be made into a musical....perhaps not
EDIT - based on G Bartali war days

I've ridden Mont Cenis. It didn't look that nice at the top.
That is all.
