  • New Brighton?

  • that’s the one, yep!

  • Oh boy! This looks great! More pictures and details please...

  • I recognise it, I grew up there 🙂

  • Ceratec grease is a very good point. Conflicting advice online about grease but makes sense. Will add some and give everything a good clean again.

It has a Brembo caliper with 4 small pads, not sure on the official term for it.

  • Oh and the brand doesn't matter ecp and gsf is a best bought when on a sale.

The awesome brakes as there are four leading edges.

  • It's a little bit cool isn't it?
    1987 Moto Guzzi 650 NTX.
    Lovely engine and sound.
More info when I'm over a flu and stuff.

  • What's coming out of the exhaust on the presumed Harley? I guess that's usually from a decaying cat or muffler... But I don't see either on that bike.

That walt siegl is a thing of dreams.

  • Hey @pdlouche in thinking of getting my dry though an MOT (ITV) but need rear indicators and brake light. Any suggestions on something I can strap on?

I think this winter I'll strip it down and rebuild the wiring harness as it's a mess

    Cheers

  • More pics. A little rough looking maybe. But perfect for that paris chic commute look that I'm after.
    Especially loving the cockpit dashboard.

  • Hmm not sure but some of the offroad stores used to offer a ‘road kit’ for mx bikes. Maybe worth a look?

MOT in England can be without any lights or indicators for daytime use only. The caveat is that if they are fitted they must be complete and working (ie front AND back indicators, or none at all).

  • Thata and idea, maybe They're not needed here. Need to try and Google, but the facts on these things are always hard to discern.

  • Motogadget M-Unit is the go to for that sort of thing I believe?

  • Looks like a bit of exhaust wrap but no idea how it would have made it's way in there?

  • Looks nice, but overkill for an old drz

  • Yeah they're a small bit pricey but seem like a really user friendly option... suspect there's a MIC version available from Aliexpress maybe?

  • I'm thinking a lot about buying something sporty... it'll be my first sports bike and to be honest I haven't even ridden anything terribly sporty yet...

I've drawn up a little shortlist of things I like the look of that seem like moderately sensible options:

    Yamaha YZF750R
    Suzuki GSX-R750L
    Aprilia RSV Mille
    Honda CBR954RR Fireblade
BMW R1200S (probably an outlier but there's something cool about them)

I suppose I'm really looking at two categories, early 90s 750cc or early 00s 1000cc but I'm just wondering what would be the better choice or should I actually be looking at an early 90s 400cc or early 00s 600cc for a first sports bike?

My XTZ has a 79bhp TRX850 motor and I'm perfectly comfortable with it so I feel like something around the 100-120bhp mark would be a good step?

Thoughts from the sports bike people?

  • I think around the 100-120bhp range would be a bunch of fun and still fairly lightweight. That's 600 region

1000s are gonna be closer to 200bhp surely

In my very limited experience and non with sports bikes, it's revving and banging through the gears that's fun. Doing that on a litre bike and you're going to be going 100 before you hit 4th

  • Anyone selling a cheap 50cc moped?
