  • I'm not entirely sure what you mean. As in tricky to clip in and out? Or as in it feels like the float itself is being resisted by the pedals? I have SPDs on my other bike and prefer the X Track, they feel a lot smoother generally. It's probably not a fair comparison though because the SPD are entry level and second hand (the X Track are secondhand as well but in better shape).

    Edit: if you're curious I can lend you my pair for a week or two to see how you get on with them!

  • I more mean resistive to the float. Speedplay is 100% free, time isn’t bad, shimano is like you’re fighting against anything other that 0degree.

  • Ah I see! Yeah the float feels nice and smooth. Not sure I've got the vocabulary to describe it any better than that!
