I'm not entirely sure what you mean. As in tricky to clip in and out? Or as in it feels like the float itself is being resisted by the pedals? I have SPDs on my other bike and prefer the X Track, they feel a lot smoother generally. It's probably not a fair comparison though because the SPD are entry level and second hand (the X Track are secondhand as well but in better shape).
