I sold my first pair of Hopes because I thought they were causing me knee pain.
I went back to ATACS, but after another two pairs failing after months each, I decided to try Hope again.
I remembered that at the time I tried them first I'd been off the bike for six weeks with a broken collarbone. So I figured there's every chance my knees were suffering from all the rest 😂... They just weren't used to it.
Anyway, this time around I've had no knee issues with the Hope, nothing has broken, bearings have no play, cleats have tonnes of life left.
The quality of the Hopes is head and shoulders above ATACS.
They still don't have that reassuring clunk ATACS have when you clip in, but overall I've been happy enough with them to not waste any more money on ATACS.
One thing I'll say though is that my Hopes were set really loose at first, and the engagement felt really vague. Since tightening the springs they've been much better.
I'm using the trail version btw.
