Hang on are they issuing GPS trackers this year, or will the tracker show a more simple progress through controls by rider?
-
• #80
The latter, progress through controls. If only...

Got goosebumps arriving at the check in today seeing all randonneurness, such good vibes. But so not used to riding in heat. I'm P078.
Some bikes, which I think are volunteers' (foot retention-less skidders) and show bikes

Saw that fixie skidder lopro today when I registered.
Spotted some other nice bikes as well. Some super high-end carbon kicking around, too.

Surprised by how many other people there are riding fixed. Must have seen around 15 others.
Audax Bristol have a good few riders, there’s a rider in the same hotel as me from Southampton, and a couple of American riders I shouted FIXED GEAR, YEAH! at much to the embarrassment of my girlfriend.

Lo Pro coasted past me at some point today, not so fixie skidder after all. I shed a single tear.

Some good stuff in there. Saw that pink Bianchi with the pink CK (?) hubs. The fork on that Bates is wild.
Looking at the pic of that lopro it does have a coaster brake 🥲

That's great!
Reminds me I also saw a tandem with two guys on it who had matching kit, matching hair and matching moustaches.

We had to abandon on the first night at Mortagne, 10% of the way round.
Stoker's pedal fell out and the threads were shredded. Mechanics couldn't help.
Better luck everyone! -
