525MB powerpoint
It's going to take the Generative AI years to read and process that in order to output the necessary business plan, contracts, code, website, etc.

I admit it is comical, but any slide deck that people collaborate on rapidly grows to be huge.
Can’t change that, but do have to work with the files.

May be able to reduce the size still…
https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/hub/steps-to-compress-a-powerpoint.html
Open the presentation in PowerPoint.
Click File on the top toolbar and choose Options > Advanced.
Under the Image Size and Quality heading, choose these settings:
Check “Discard editing data.”
Uncheck “Do not compress images in file.”
Select 150 PPI or lower in the Default resolution dropdown menu.
Click OK.Sharepoint will be doing versioning anyway

Anyone running the ios17 beta? Is it stable enough to install?
-
• #20608
Perfectly stable for me - on the latest dev version.
Even banking apps seem to work this year; they're usually completely borked until RC1.
A lot of the cool features of iOS17 only work with other people on iOS17 though. Which means it's a little pointless.

Tbh I just want the stanby mode on landscape mode so I can do this

Yeah, it's fine. Doesn't have lots of functionality right now though.
It's useful as a bedside clock I guess.

Does anybody know of a simple & convenient solution to remove EXIF data from images on mac, that is (still) working with the modern versions of MacOS?
I vaguely recall that there was a way to use (the command line tool) ExifTool by Phil Harvey to set up a little icon in the dock that ran the script when, say, a .jpg file was drag-and-dropped onto it - nowadays though the tool itself can't be installed (developer cannot be verified etc.), and I can't seem to find an alternative that just does this little job nicely / quickly..
Any help appreciated, thanks!

basic question. Trying to bootcamp my MCP to two external screens.
Only got 2 usb c ports. One port has the charger in, the other has an adapter which has HDMI and usb slots in it.
Screen one's cable is HDMI, screen 2's cable is usb c. I got a cheap usb c to usb adapter on amazon, which isn't working with the screen. To achieve this two screen setup, do I need a better/more modern dock which goes into the spare usb c / thunderbolt slot, and then can receive a usb c & hdmi input like this?
Edit - I think it might be the cheap usb to usb c adapter, going in to my other adapter, which isn't working. This is because when I try it with just this second screen, it still does not work.
Cheers

Yes, non-Pro/Max Apple Silicons don't support more than 1 external screen. Epic WTF.

Have a couple of white macbooks. Are they worth anything? Have seen a few on facebook market place that are quite expensive but no idea if they sell.
Is it worth the effort to sell them or not.

• #20617
Have a search for the exact model on eBay. Use the sold items filter and that’ll tell you what you need to know.
-
• #20618
Yeah but don't want to use ebay...
Any better places to sell or will I just waste time?
-
• #20619
They’re basically worthless these days. I’d give them to a computer charity, or e-waste.
-
• #20620
I don’t care where you want to sell it.
Your question was how much it was worth and that will tell you.

True, and thank you. Sorry for being grumpy/rude.
@ectoplasmosis feels that makes it worse that they were sitting around for so long.

Looking forward to these!

Is there a recommended non-Apple power lead I can get for my MacBook without burning the house down?
The genuine one I have (probably 4 years old) now gets super hot.
-
• #20624
Ugreen, anker should be able to do you something 60-100w or thereabouts
-
• #20625
Another vote for Anker / UGreen.. also do get a "GaN" one, they're more compact and don't get as hot while delivering the same power 👍
This genuinely sounds like a great way to keep people engaged on a dence topic.
