  • It’s probably bigger than you’re picturing, but it should run fine on 13a and water and waste plumbing is pretty simple especially if it’s near the sink.

    You could run it off a flojet pump and run the waste into a bucket.

    You’ll still be better off going out for espresso and making filter at home 😉

  • I bottled it, it was too big and over the top for a few espresso per day!

    Ordered the gaggia with 9 bar spring from the home baristas, and a hand grinder too, seems like a good way of getting good coffee without spending a fortune!

    So I have
    Machine
    Grinder
    IMS Basket
    Scales

    I’ll get a nice tamper and slim drip tray when shades of coffee reopen.

    Now… coffee beans…

  • I went with the hand grinder that home baristas sell, admittedly from somewhere else that was discounted… (I did speak to the home barista to see if they’d do a deal on buying both before going elsewhere).

    I figure a good ish hand grinder is going to be way better than a cheap machine, it’s going to be a lot quieter, which is a nice to have ont he occasion I wake up before my kids and get to have a peaceful coffee!

  • Following the lack of reply to my question of any one got a Ikawa coffee roaster, see that no one has one. Or knows anyone that has one.

  • I can't speak from personal experience but I know three different local roasters use them for trialling new green beans so they must be decent.

  • Don't have one, but do have a small home roaster (250g), if the questions weren't Ikawa-specific

  • I just cleaned my grinder - Compak k3 touch and after reassembly it is grinding metal. I am struggling to find where the metal pieces are coming from but I wonder if anyone had similar experience or knows what could be causing that?

  • My Dad had a bakery until he retired last year. Me and my wife are toying with the idea of doing a pop up cafe there. Tray bakes and coffee nothing crazy. I’m really wanting it to be as green as possible so I’m considering drippers and maybe using a cafelat robot.

    I can’t imagine there will be lots of takers so does the robot seem like a daft idea?

    I will however need a way to froth milk for cappuccino etc etc.

    I do also have a classic if we were inundated but it’s a tiny village so I doubt it

  • I don't have that grinder but have you set the burrs too closer to each other? When I clean my Gaggia MDF I have to push the burrs closer and closer to each other until they touch and then step it back one to get a zero point for the grind indicator.
