Good question... I suppose by mixing, trying, ruining what was actually good by trying to make it better,... starting again and than suddenly coming to a result that works. I guess. For this face it took me two hours to come to a colour combination I like. Skin colour with a touch of blue and purple for the shadows.

Finished this one today. Difficult to take a photo without the light reflection in it.
