We were staying in an apartment, so that wouldn't have worked for us. Also, the three of us were travelling with 3 bikes in bike boxes, and having only just managed to send the smaller of the two types of bike box by post in the UK, I'd hate to have to send one internationally.
The good news is that the missing bike and bike box have been found and delivered. The bad news is that my luggage is still presumably having an extended stay in Oslo. Maybe.

I work at an airport and never travel with checked luggage. I mail/fedex stuff to my hotel ahead of time, then send it home.
