The whole Prom thing is ridiculous, parents spending hundreds on dresses and cars is common. Some of my daughters year spent £400 on dresses that were worn for 2 hours before they changed into after Prom Party dresses.
My daughter spent £39 on a dress and hired a Lime bike.
