Great build. Looks v purposeful and perfect year round road bike. Dig the pink!

That was the goal! Not racing road bikes anymore so got rid of the race bike and winter beater and replaced them both with this. It’s one of the Stayer Crit batch frames, but Sam put some mudguard mounts on for me and takes 28c plus guards. So should be the perfect mix of lively, fast ride for smashing around in Summer but enough comfort and clearance to handle the winter miles too.

Would you mind letting me know what carradice model that bag is? Building up a new winter steed and like this set up! Thanks.

It's an Audax on a bagman support. With vegan bits rather than leather.

Freddie showed me this thread over the weekend, so I thought I'd join up and fill in some questions about my Sworks SL6 winter project.
It was a Pink SL6, but after a crash I had it repaired and repainted in Sand (RAL1002)
I then painted the guards myself and went about working out how to make them fit.NDS The thru axles are tapped M4 inside of the 6mm allen key.
DS I used a plug, glued in. Then tapped that.
That gave good strength, a bit if a faff to get the wheels off. But 28mm GP5000STRs with Stans race sealant got me through 10hr weeks all winter without having to take a wheel off (1 dynaplug)The other mounts were more tricky... And it's still a slight work in progress.
At the steerer, I have ended up with an elastic hair tie around the fork crown race holding onto a flared plastic but on the fender.
Its rock solid, keeps me really dry but does have some toeverlapThe rear is a bit more tricky.
It goes all the way around and through the chain stays and pokes out thr under side. It's then zip tied across to the plastic frame plug to hold it tight.
And I then used the front brake mount from the Bluemels set on the seat stay to have a 4 point if attachment so it's not wobbling around. It was a stupid project, but worked out really well. I bloody love riding it. Get lots of head turns ans I'm sure of lot of people thinking it's fake.
Happy to answer any questions. And youll likely see my out on it around SW London and Windsor during the winter.

this is totally awesome.
can you say more about the plug/tap in the axles? and maybe a shot of both the brake bridge and chainstay attachments?

Tapping the thru axles is genius.

A degree in mechanical engineering, and this is the best I managed to come up with.
£30k well spent!! LOL.I'll snap some detail photos when I get home.
Oh also forgot to mention that I used an Ass Saver to extend the rear mudguard, due to me having to rotate it further forward to mount it to the BB plub.
Also painted that RAL1002 -

Mechanical Engineering degree but you fitted GP5000s to a winter bike and then made it difficult to take the wheels off? ;)
I reserve the right to mock any winter bike that's cleaner than any of my bikes.

Is here are some more shots.
Simple zip tie holding the base of the guard into the frame.
Front mount using rim brake adapter, but cut down. I used hook lock originally, but it kept failing. So I now also use an elastic hairband to hold it all together.
Rear mount also uses the newer design rim brake mount that pivots. Gives it added stability, as this is my 2nd rear guard. The first flapped too much and eventually snapped.
Allen key side, I tapped a piece of the axle that had a 4mm hole already in it.
Other side I dropped in a rawl plug, glued with rubberised loctite, then drilled and tapped thr plastic. It goes tight enough that I can undo the thru axle.Up close, you can see some of the hacks I had to make, but it kept me busy whilst I was off the bike with a broken leg and now I'm very happy with it
