it was a present - it has some useful stuff but a lot of waffle.

Merci ! I’m still undecided on fit out - the back corner is defo the place for sitting as you have views out of both window and door. So if it’s going have some kind of soft seating (currently beanbags) - this precludes a fixed desk along the wall perpendicular to the window. So I just slammed a quick bit of ply across to test a desk under the window. Did feel nice tbh but some glare issues and wouldn’t want a proper monitor infront etc

Cheers I’ll see if I can get it from the library rather than buy then.

Oiled the hidden sides with some decking oil I had in the garage. Filled and sanded many holes and bits inside . Cut flooring vinyl to size. Fitted window and door handles. Got the measurement wrong on the door so it’s 100mm higher than I wanted it - so everytime I look at it I will hate myself . Made pasta with prawns and courgette. Had a row about everyone else fucking off to walk the cat (don’t ask ) just as the food hit the table. Cleaned up.

Shed looks superb. Cat looks like an imperious arsehole with the world tied around his little toe claw.

Yeah updated pics please.

Nothing to report really - haven't had enough spare cash to add insulation / power etc. I have started using it for storing tools / wood etc' for other projects and also as a place to put my road bike. Having a little cave at the bottom of the garden to hoard my stuff in is quite nice.

I have no idea how you managed to find time to build this while having kids. Think I’m going to have to go prebuilt.

Helps I was working a four day week - but constantly stopping and starting was inefficient. My kids are a quite self sufficient by now but defo a lot (too much) to ask of my wife at times tbh.

I bought a pre-built shed weeks ago. It's still on a pallet waiting to be assembled. Might stay that way until my four year old can use an impact driver.

I know those feels.
Where did you get yours from? -

I’m currently trying for convince my other half that we should do this at the end of the garden. We have a decked area (3.5 x 3.5) at the back that’s just not used, so thinking of using half for a small multipurpose shed/office and the other half for a soft floor with some monkey bars and gymnastics bar that my daughter is asking me daily for.

I got a Power Shed in the end. Worked out a bit cheaper than a Beast Shed in the end (probably because Beast include assembly).
The shed world seems to really go in for macho-camp names.

Ha. Cheers. I was looking at ace sheds and they look decent and not too macho.

I struggle with all of my projects too, partly for this reason and partly as when I do have the time I'm often knackered.
What I've found helps is if you:
- map out a detailed plan (use tv-type downtime, or teams calls with too large an invite list)
- once you've got a guide of timescales and how it can be segmented, request the time off from your OH. Maybe a trip to family, see a friend with the kid(s), etc.
- organise everything prior to your free time slot.
I forget how old yours is, but unfortunately while they're more work when they are tiny, once they start moving you then have the challenge of having to pack everything away and make it safe.

I can imagine.
Only bit of advice is be careful about filling it.
I'm now at a stage where before I can insulate our wooden shed to make it a 2.5 season office I have to do a tonne of other jobs to reclaim the space.
Realistically targeting end of September.

You're not wrong - I got this one last year - the 'Dominator'. Very happy with it, but it feels more like a nice little place in the garden to do some work, rather than something I'll use to invade Europe.

I remember many many conversations about climbing frames etc. I pushed back hard as I recall - and now they are 8 / 11 - it’s beyond requirements. Stay strong 💪

Also thinking this.

I got one of the TP toys explorer climbing frames for £50 on Facebook marketplace, as its able to be dismantled, I'm hoping that will be enough!
When I got the decking done, I asked for the posts and decking sub-frame to be overspecced, so that it was strong enough to support a cabin should I wish to build one in future. The idea of digging out posts concreted into the ground doesn't fill me with joy so hopefully the frame is still in good order.

In Sheppz shed news an extension lead has been run along the back of the flower bed and fed through the back of the house. So I now have light and power. Cluttered but pretty cosy in there for most of yesterday with the rain hammering down outside. The desk was only a temporary install - now looking at options for squeezing in a day bed of sorts so others in the fam can use it as an escape pod for reading etc. Its super tight but might just work.

Looks brilliant. Well done.
I imagine it was nice looking out the window while working.
