  • Very few words for this.

The saddle is a bit of a head-scratcher. Designed by Bertone. The exhaust bits...what function could they have? I can't find any explanation online. Maybe they are like the jet age fins and tail-lights on American cars in the fifties.

  • The C35 also had way too much seatstay going on, but at least it had the curved tubes and mad wheels. I think most folks agreed at was porn at the time... It was rad AF for '89.

  • Speaking of rad, those wheel covers on that Roland(?) freestyler take the 80s biscuit.

Seems a weird departure for a keyboard company...

Also failed to clock the questionable exhaust stylings of Bertone. Hilarious

  • The exhaust bits...what function could they have?

I think they're a very elaborated form of the elastomer rail terminus, such as is found in a simpler implementation on the Selle Italia Turbomatic

  • elastomer rail terminus

A rubber train station. Of course.

  • I ended up with one on a Facebook Marketplace CAAD3 I bought. Cool as an object, but lost the battle to a yellow Flite for looks and comfort. Never managed to light up the afterburners with my puny legs either

  • Don't mind that at all, personally. I mean, it's not the prettiest of things, but not anti in my eyes aside from the weedy front rotor that is. It's got lines like the early 2010's Mondraker Forward Geometry bikes.

And is that a Shimano sticker on the chainstay, but a SRAM drivetrain?!

  • asymmetric stays, weird triangle cut-out seat tube bit, humpy top tube...
the thing literally looks like a dog taking a shit.

  • Asymmetric seat stays which are completely unnecessary. Symmetrical chainstays where asymmetry would actually have been useful

  • Pinarello are just jumping on the coattails of Mondraker's XC bikes I reckon:

I'm not saying it's pretty, but at least Pinarello haven't integrated the stem too!

  • Symmetrical chainstays

    Nope

  • Thought it was just the angle of the photo but you might be right

  • afterburners

I want one now. I'mn sure I could find a use for it when touring. Snack dispenser. Pump storage. Googly eyes .

  • Pina’s last Dogma XC had assymetric seatstays, it was a lot more normal looking.
Looking odd is part of Pinarello’s brand identity.
Manufacturers/Brands need to do stuff like this to differentiate themselves from other brands.

  • Looking like someone left a plastic bike in front of an electric heater is part of Pinarello’s brand identity.

  • Good description, they always have something weird going on

  • Think the saddle weighs as much as the rest of the bike.

  • Looks like she pinched that seat off a share bike.

  • Sad pedals and bottle for a 12 grand bike. She's just bought it. For a charity ride. She asked the shop for the saddle with the most padding. After the ride the bike will be forgotten.

  • Wouldn’t it have made more sense to just donate the £12k to charity?

  • Not if she raises more than £12k I guess?

Is she a famous person or something? The water bottle is the highlight for me.
