Cargo Bikes

Are you planning on doing any dirt jump riding on your cargo bike? If the for manufacturer has followed ISO 4210 or DIN 79009 then the forks are tested to the correct riding category. For cargo bikes that would normally be city/trekking with an appropriate scaling for weight limit.

While riding today somehow the "chainglider" got mangled up in the sprocket and now the gears (Enviolo) won't change and it's stuck in a granny gear.

There's no obvious problem with the cables etc.

I've found that it doesn't take much axial force to pop the lockring off an Enviolo sprocket. It could be that the sprocket has now pushed up against the back of that gear changer preventing it from rotating. I've found those things to be very sensitive to assembly torque too.

It is the load 75 - that's the setup we got. Kids do enjoy fighting...

Only downside is if they want a snooze the tent isn't much good to lean on

They are removable, and the safety strap is easily reversed too. Not something that'll be advertised once the bracket goes on sale but it works well for us.

They look great though, I like how compact it is.

Having the box on the bullitt makes it a bit chunky and a pain to lock up at times but it's great for luggin around crap for the kids.

Yeah, for lugging wide loads not ideal. Brought 2x fence panels back from the garden centre with many bungees and no ability to see the front wheel...

Have had a search but only seen comments about Riess & Mullers getting delayed a lot.

I was considering upgrading my Bullitt to electric but the eldest complains that it's not roomy enough and she's only going to get taller. R&M have a 75cm long space, with footwell and a rear facing seat which I reckon will probably keep us going for a few years extra.

Any words of caution?

If the issue is leg room have you considered a more upright seating arrangement? IT seems like a lot of the standard kid hauling boxes put them pretty low which i could see leaving them cramped but I have seen some more upright boxes here in the DACH that I would assume solve this. Not the best example but kid of:

Good shout, I had considered these a while back. I think what put me off at the time was having to remove and find a new home for the canopy seat and baseboard but I'll have a browse and reconsider.

Even if you gave away the canopy seat and baseboard im sure you will still come out ahead vs buying a new one

Load 75 isn’t super roomy either length or width. Just had 2x7yo & a 4yo in it and it’s was a squeeze. No option for the wide boxes pictured above cos of the frame at the side of box

Yeah I just had a test ride and my main concern is whether they are happy with it so will need to bring them back for another test.
I did really enjoy it though, great ride. I can see them outgrowing it within just two years. The urban arrow next to it looked ridiculous though.

C'mon, one of you fuckers must need this stuff that allows you to attach your spawn I mean children to your cargo bike. FREE! Just collect from Ealing. Which shouldn't be hard if you have a cargo bike.

I test rode the anniversary model urban arrow and I thought it was really good - ride isn't as nice as the R&M and the build quality didn't feel as solid but deffo bigger

How does this work?

The Maxi-cosi adapter bolts in to the bottom of your bucket. Requires making holes. Allows you to carry babies / infants in a maxi-cosi carrier. The carrier is attached using two springy cords that give it some suspension.

The booster has straps that fixes it to a bench seat, and allows kids too small for the bench seat to use it comfortably.

The UA has a much deeper box which is handy sometimes. I think it’s a tiny bit wider too. Kids preferred the RM cos suspension and both me and mrs found the RM so much better to ride. Much more like a regular bike than UA. I could also get the RM thru cycle to work scheme but not the UA so a fair bit cheaper despite higher list price

Does anyone have any info if the Globe Haul will actually be released in the UK at some point?
