It was outside a cafe and he might have been sitting behind me as I was standing looking at it! But, yes, was surprised. Like it a lot. The brass badge on the stem is who did the work?

I wrote down different ratios a while ago when trying to work out what single speed to try. I didn't have that combination but 56/14 would be roughly 66.4 (the same as 48/12). 57/14 would be slightly higher and anyway, you will have tried it by now.

Went to fit the stuff last night and realised the 14t is a 3 lobe cog not the 9spline I need.
Oh and it was also a 13t!
14t 9 spline on order.

Anyone has a kid front seat for Brompton that they wouldn't mind lending for couple weeks (London area)? There was one for sale recently on here but I can't find it anymore. Didn't get in touch at the time because in a few month our youngest would be to big for it anyway, but we're going on holiday next week and have suddenly decided to take Brompton with us...

Nice service; double wheel build, new brakes, rear hinge, bottom, bracket and Chainset, along with usual suspect of a creaking left pedal ! Now running 44 x14 gearing to help with the hills!

Isn't that 144BCD?

Did this yesterday whilst riding home.
Not a pleasant experience.Got a replacement in the post en route.
Is there anything I should be doing to prevent this from happening?
I've seen people doing BMX tricks and such on a Brompton and I'm not that aggressive a rider... is it just my bad luck?

Yikes indeed.
Did the head shear off the bolt?
-

The threaded end of the bolt failed? The head remains intact.
Eek

Hi, thanks, just Googled this and our 3yo would exceed the max limit quite a bit unfortunately. I realise that there is only very few other options...

I've been looking at switching up gearing for a m6l.. and see a lot of mention of running a 44t chainring. Surely this gives barely any good top end? With the stock ring the highest gear doesn't feel that high? Unless something is not sitting right with the gearing of course! Any suggestions?

Silly question but why don't Brompton still offer a 5 speed hub?
And is it possible to retro fit one ? -

if you need the low gear to get up the hill, you need the low gear to get up the hill - you can always just spin out on the downhills... if you want more range, well, how about fitting a rohloff...?
Love this! Sneaky steel t line proto
