  • Perhaps not tool porn worthy but I’m loving the BBB chain tool. Super smooth threads, adjustable anchor, comes with a spare push pin and a cleverly integrated star wrench in the handle to remove and install them. Cheaper than park and feels like it’s made to last.

9.5/10 personally because the handle isn’t as comfortable in my hand.

  • Just realised the handle isn’t moulded on and can be removed with some forceful pulling. Might turn a bespoke wooden one for it if I ever have the time.

  • My first time at Nine Elms Sunday Market today.
Just about every single power tool, and many hand tools, you could possibly want at bargain prices.
There were at least 20 stalls similar to what's in the pictures.
    Is it all nicked? Probably
    Free entry and bike friendly!

  • Wonder what the prices were like. Surely has to be hotter than the sun.

  • the prices were as fluid as a cornetto in a skegness heatwave

  • Hmm yeah definitely looks legit!

  • 2x1 on DeWelt and Makilta drills!

  • About as legit as the bikes sold on the streets around brick lane bitd. Buy stolen shit and you just encourage more theft.

  • Anyone got recs for really nice tape measures? I find just about every one flimsy and infuriating

  • I bought a hultafors recently and it has changed my (measuring) life. It's a basic manual tape measure, but has some nice features for marking, measuring gaps between things and measuring diameters.

    Specifically the talmeter - https://www.hultafors.com/products/talmeter

  • really nice

Depends on your definition of "really nice". If you want something good but a bit more modest than Hulfators, I've been using the same Draper one for more than a decade, equivalent model these days is 82815 (82813 for 5m, 82816 for 10m) which can be had for under a tenner

  • Nice wide tape, reinforced for the first 15cm to extend its life, decent blade, Mylar rather than nylon coated. I have the 10m but it’s a bit of a monster unless you need the length. The 5m is great. There are lots of other tapes with fancy features, but if you want a durable and tough tape I reckon they’re the best out there.

I also get metric only, never use inches these days.

  • rly enjoying this atm
