  • This is a revamped version of the thread formerly known as 'The Crown Jewels', but now just for the frames I have for sale (separate thread for complete bikes). For a combination of some of the usual 'life events' which I won't bore you with, I'm looking to sell off some of my personal collection along with a bunch of less sparkly frames which are 'just stock'. Offering everything on here first as I have a big preference for them to go to appreciative/lovely forum people. If they don't sell, well, I'm a patient man (sometimes). Listed in descending order of price and specialness. More photos/details on request, I will add the missing frame photos to the folder as and when I get a chance, usually prompted by an enquiry from someone. All frame sizes are measured centre to centre with seat tube first unless frame is 'square' (both the same).

Happy to post frames anywhere in UK at cost, collection from SE1/Waterloo preferred, viewing welcome.
I can also offer a full build service and have good new/used groupsets/wheels from stock.

    Cheers J

  • Hey John - seems to be the way that the frames for which I don't yet have pics are the ones that attract interest! I will try and take some tomorrow morning - it's a bit gloomy and damp out now. Just so you know, the previous owner lost the original (undrilled) fork after part-exchanging the frameset which was a bit upsetting. I have various fork options (all drilled for brake) available from a decent Holdsworth 531 one that almost matches to a brand new straight-leg SLX chrome job. The cheap price shown is frame only, which is an option if you want to source your own fork. It's a lovely frame. Pics to follow on...

  • Again, a bump for @retrodicorsa's collection. I bought a Duell off him late July, which I'd be riding right now if some lycra'd chopper hadn't knocked me off my bike last week in Covent Garden because he thinks road markings don't apply to him (now nursing several fractured ribs). These are real bargains and he builds them up to the standard of the best bike shop to your preferences for free, and provides a great afterservice too. Beg, borrow, maybe not steal, to get your mitts on one of these.

  • @Rastapopoulos - thanks for your kind words (again!) and so sorry to hear of your 'off' - hope the ribs heal up soon and that the bike is OK - if it needs any post-crash attention do get in touch, happy to sort it out for free (excluding any parts). Best, Hutch

  • Fortunately, I was in my Panzer-like steel MTB.

  • Ah, phew, forgot you still had that - my immediate thought was 'not the Duell'!
    Get well soon 😉

  • Hey John - the Pike pics are posted - same place as others or go straight to them HERE. I have shown it with the Holdsworth 531 fork, and also the new chrome SLX fork. You can of course take it without either and add your own. Frame only £150, Holdsworth fork +£35, SLX +£135. There are 2 pics of rear tyre clearance, with wheel either end of the adjustment - up close 23c max, other end at least 25 but the SLX fork is also max 25.

  • Loving the Stan Pike :)

  • Like all Pikes the lugwork is superb, filed thin, nice cutouts, sexy shorelines 🤤! It's a bit battered cosmetically (no dents) but the paint is lovely. Such a shame previous owner 'lost' the fork...

  • That Masi Prestige. Damn.

  • I have just updated the photos of the Ephgrave track/path frame showing a more recent build I did for myself and have been riding. It's a wonderful frame.

    A few more details:

    • Frame number LE1352 [1952?]
    • 56cm square c2c, 14.7cm head tube, 28cm BB height, 100 x a little under 120 spacing
    • BSA BB, 1" steerer. Drilled fork, no provision for rear brake.
    • Mudguard eyes and generous clearances - the tyres shown are 700c x 32 on TB14 rims.
    • Lovely delicate pencil stays and fillet brazing (or from that era may be welded, I shall await the thoughts of any passing vintage experts).
    • Magic carpet ride quality, total bike weight as shown 8.8kg.
    • Was repainted by Bob Jackson's just before they closed 'that time', in a 'warm black' with nice hand box-lining. Paint still fresh, hardly ridden since refurb.
    • Only issue of note is the BB has been sleeved, but on a bike this age it basically just means a complete reset on worn threads and it's all good.

Frame, fork and (new) Tange headset for sale at £350, for another £50 I will include the lovely vintage steel stem and alloy track bars, or £75 for them without the F&F but preference goes to someone buying the frame of course.

  • Love the Pike - I assumed it was a road frame but see it’s a track .
    GLWS though 👍

  • I saw the Rivola in person the other day - amazing frame freshly repainted with great chrome lugwork. It would make a lovely build and is a bargain price esp for the tubing. If I hadnt just bought another from @retrodicorsa recently I would have snapped it up in an instant.

  • @johnnettles2 sorry to get your hopes up John, I meant to note it was track in the list but somehow failed 😳. At least you've helped clarify that anyway! 👍

@DanM good yo see you again and good luck with that build. Yeah, that Rivola is pretty special but a very niche marque and nobody is buying much anyway these days, hence the keen price. I paid more than that for it a couple of years ago, but times is 'ard innit 😬

Another update - more pictures of the Massi (not Masi!) Mega Team added to relevant folder HERE - apart from the, ahem, marmite paint these Italian made frames are pretty special - fillet brazed Brain multi-shape tubing. The chain stays are interesting - almost triangular cross section at the BB and very stiff. Frame looks smaller than it is - deffo 55sq. Top condition too.

  • Colnago Master X-Light now sold (yay!).
One of my sons needs rent deposit for yr2 Uni (booooo!).
    List updated.

  • Sunday Special! - £10 of anything/everything for one day only.
    Buy now while stocks last!

  • Moser Leader AX sold.
Plenty more to choose from still 😬

  • Hi Paul

    I’ll have the Bianchi please
