  • Race held up by protesters , haven’t moved for ten minutes so no telling …
police only just turning up !

  • Could be tomorrow if they're locked on / well glued. Assuming it is Just Stop Oil.

  • Eurosport saying they concreted themselves to the road surface. I'd be looking for another country lane to route them around on right now but this ain't necessarily easy to do. Anyone know where abouts on the course map they're at?

  • Just near the Carron valley reservoir. No side roads except back to Denny and on the A803 looks like

  • They are on the B818 going along side the Carron Valley reservoir ….
Just showed pictures of them trying to clear the road …. Looks like a couple of bags of cement on the road - but protesters have been removed !

  • Ah yeah, no ratruns leaping out on the map. Awkward.

  • Arse end of nowhere.

    Pretty fucked tbh.

  • Should be moving soon maybe?

  • The irony of the GBR riders looking miffed while sporting a Shell logo on their arms.

    Serves em right.

  • Turns out it’s not Stop Oil protesting, it’s a Glasgow taxi drivers

  • ^ for real? They just said 4 lads were doing it on eurosport

  • Some dick added the Ws

  • Environmental group This Is Rigged claimed responsibility for the demonstration, with four of its activists involved.

  • How come there's a rider in full pink EF, not country kit?

  • I reckon it was an Ecuadorian, and team kit jacket (no numbers)?

  • I guess you're right about the jacket but I think this chap was wearing EF shorts, so maybe country only supplied jersey.

  • They don’t really have any choice in the matter do they?

Save your (justified) ire for the blazers at BC who signed the idiotic deal.

  • This looks fucking exhausting. Having to drill it out of every corner just to stay on the wheel is properly awful for an hour crit - can’t imagine doing it for this long!

  • They have a choice. It’s a tough one but it’s a choice.

Not so different from me not ever working for oil or tobacco, which means I missed out on big freelance gigs multiple times when needing work.

  • That analogy barely holds up in the context of pro tour teams, it certainly doesn’t make sense when talking about representing your country

  • At the end of the day, there’s no lottery money without success, so if the top riders boycotted the Shell badge BC would move quite quickly I reckon.

  • This race is very 2023. So unpredictable and fighty.

Glasgow crowds have really shown up! And waited a bit too I guess.

  • G.B. should have entered Alec Briggs for this … king of the crits !

  • Was that tactical by Italy? Looked to be blowing mostly themselves apart 90km+ out.
