Ahh, that’s very kind of you but it looks like the cog and chainring have shipped.

I haven’t been playing with bikes that much recently as I’ve been lucky enough to have been out riding them a lot.
The Seta has been out and about a bit and I’m really enjoying it. I haven’t been on any longer rides with it yet, but it’s been fun to take it out for a coffee or a beer.

The Brompton continues to be a bit of a money pit but it’s almost finished!
Pretty much all the bolts have been replaced for stainless/ti (to prevent rust rather than trying to save weight), and new pedals, bars, grips, seatpost, suspension block, chainring fitted. The front hub is shot so that’ll be replaced next along with the worn front and rear rim.
I may also get a bag for the front carrier block at some point, maybe the Borough roll top.
And now it looks like the rear triangle hinge and seatpost sleeve both need replacing as well as the brake cables 💸

But my priorities now are getting my fixed bike and my girlfriends road bike ready for PBP in a couple of weeks.
I’ll replace the tyres, chains, brake pads and bottom brackets and then we should both be good to go!

Looking forward to hearing about your PBB!
but also till the day when you do a brakeless riser adaux ;) -

May I ask which seat post that is? Is it the titanium telescopic? Cheers, from one tall bloke to another

A brakeless 200 has been on the cards for a long time. Not sure I could make a route flat enough around here though.

It’s the bottom part of a standard Brompton telescopic seatpost. I removed the top section and the quick release clamp and replaced it with a Nitto seatpost and Thomson seat clamp (also had to use a USE shim from SJS Cycles).
It doesn’t save any weight but, in my opinion, it looks a bit better.

Thanks all!
In answer to some questions:
The levers were the best ones in their price range on eBay at the time. They’re also Di2 so good for fidgeting with when I get bored on long rides, click click.
The frame was made by a friend who fabricates under the name BrocBikes.

We’re currently sat in an Airbnb in Calais having just driven here from Edinburgh. A few more hours to drive tomorrow and then we’ll be in Rambouillet, the start of PBP.
We’ll have two days to soak up the atmosphere and register before the depart at 7pm on Sunday.
Hoping to see and meet some interesting people (and bikes!) over the next few days. Anything particularly interesting I may post in here if I get a chance.

We await your report, Sir Matthew...
What size cog are you after? I've got a brand new 16T EAI I could throw in the post to you first thing tomorrow.
