What tyres and size?

700x28c (measure 30 on 32 wide rims). 68/64 psi.
Feels great. Was previously on latex, 700x28 on 28 wide rims.

I was on 32c which came up true on Hope 20Five rims and they worked great for a bit, until they didn't. Might be further upthread but I certainly wasn't the only one with tubeless issues on those rims.
Now running 34c Schwalbe Pro One on 24mm internal Arkane rims, measure 35. 55/52psi. Size is probably overkill but need every bit of comfort for Audax 😅

I've tubeless non tubeless tyres on tubeless rims. Went ok. I didn't die. Hypervoyagers (38c) on Ryde DP.
I've done Corsa controls 32c and 30c on those wheels too. Used them on the road and a bit of off the road. I think they're tubeless supposedly, but who knows.
I didn't die. Even when I hit a pothole in the dark and flatted. Put a tube in. -

This is the other way around isn't it? These aren't TL rims.
Currently I'm running tubes but I replaced the tape with a layer of Tesa and I've got some tubeless valves coming. Most people seem to suggest double layer of tape but I'll see what happens with a single layer first.

I have decided tubeless is too easy. So cushcore inserts have arrived for the electric mountain bike. I am going away on holiday tomorrow (not taking a bike). So the battle to insert inserts will commence in a couple of weeks time. Expect much anger and venting if half of the commentators on this are right. But many people say if it's done slowly and methodically it's not too bad. Am debating buying the cushcore installation tools in advance.

cushcore installation tools
You already own these; a mouth for swearing at them, fists for punching them

After watching a bunch of install videos I ended up giving mine to the shop to install.

I do have a fear that inserts do fuck all but no one will admit this having battled to get the things on.

I've never had an issue installing cushcore. I use a strap to hold it in place, then work my way around.

Just fitted a pair of the new gp5000 all season tubeless. Maybe just a fluke but they went on incredibly easily considering the gp5000 they replaced I had to get the lbs to do.

Early days yet, but my AS were easy to fit also but now losing a lot of pressure every day. Just gone for 3rd wrap of tape

Great tyre but gone through 4 in a year . They dont last long and slash easily .

snap, set up my YT Capra tubeless in 2015 and not had a flat since. Endless issues on my gravel bike though.

Completely different tyre and build to the OG GP5K

I’ve been struggling to plug a tubeless puncture. The plug (Ryder slug plug kit, a standard bacon strip type tool) seals the hole fine, but over the subsequent days after, the bacon strip starts being pushed out of the tyre under the air pressure of the tyre. Any suggestions?

Buy a new tyre. Not everything is repairable.

Patch from the inside with an old glue patch

• #5397
I tried this on a Pirelli Cinturato and couldn’t get it to stick. FYI CSB

• #5398
I did one tyre this way by cleaning the cut up, putting the patch on then putting a tube on to hold it in place until it was well stuck. But I did this at home not on the road.

I did a roadside just by popping the tyre off with the hole at the top, quick wipe with my shirt, light scratch up with sandpaper, glue on the patch (first thing to do so it's tacky) and inflate and wait. Air pressure seems to help it stick as well as a tube but I have used tubes in the past. Less of an issue now, these Vittorias seem to not bother puncturing like the probably a bit too light/fast maxxis did occasionally.

Pretty unnerving video of a hookless rim burping off a GP5k at standard pressure

I’ve just gone road tubeless. I’m terrified.
