Can't Corima provide you with said axle?
I sent my second hand Zipp 808 off Zipp to replace the recalled hub without any issues or request for sight of receipt, I can't see why you would have any issues here seeing as they admitted fault/design flaw.
I've just emailed them through the contact page on the website. I'm not sure that they have admitted anything as such but going by that one post on weight weenies it seems like they would offer the axle sleeve mentioned.
