  • well done!

  • I have his biography around here somewhere but I assume most of the info will be on the internet already.

  • CS won.

    Outstanding ride.

  • Technically he's first finished.

Still time for him to be DQ'd for riding down a motorway or something :)

  • He won over my heart. That's all that matters.

  • TCR X already being hyped.

With the possibility of becoming the first person to take three consecutive wins, will he return for TCRNo10?

  • It looks like Thomas Jacquelinet - 168 - tried to cross the border into Macedonia at Miratovac which according to someone on FB who sounds like he knows about such things has been closed for years. The next one along - Tabanovce is prohibited by TCR perhaps because it is a busy road so he has had to take a further diversion to get over the border. He has a moving speed of 25.7kph over the whole course.

  • Thanks! Really interesting

  • Yeah

But all anyone really gives a shit about is when is he going grav grav?

  • Fixed route vs. free route

  • Wiesbauer is a sausage company, it is a totally normal Austrian sausage company. Not really bio or anything special, out of the same district in Vienna of the Ottakringer beer, which are known for their all yellow beer cans. And then CS said ,I schiab die Hittn bis ins Ziel‘ > hard to translate, maybe ,I push/tow this cabin to the finish‘ but more like ,I will carry this fucking cabin to the finish‘ when listening to it. Haha everything is very Austrian with him! With Felix Gall at the TdF Austria has some good riders now.

  • Anatole apparently not in GC according to insta…

  • Anatole Naimi (232) rode strongly in TCRNo9, but due to extended periods of time not riding alone has been awarded a finish outside of General Classification. One of the Race's youngest riders, we are confident he will learn an enormous amount from the experience of traversing the continent, and look forward to following Anatole's dot at future editions of the TCR, and elsewhere, for many years to come.

  • His third in the tenth edition would be special right? Or might tempt some former winners back to try and stop him :)

  • I expect he will be back next year, given he did it this year. For him it has to be largely driven by what appeals to his sponsors. RAAM is in decline so switching more to unsupported makes sense for him.

If his sponsors want gravel then I'm sure he'll oblige.

The former winners have pretty much moved on. The one who might mount the most serious challenge was playing down his chances - based on daily distances ridden - a couple of pages above.

Hard to see anyone beating Strasser - but he's over 40 now so past his physical performance peak and someone else will come along at some point.

  • Woah, a municipal beer fountain. This is the future we were promised.

  • They didn't say, and that rider is probably still on course. So we just have to wait for more clarification from organisers and/or Anatole.

  • Couldn't see from the replay or charts. Maybe it was early in the race?

  • I think Ulrich would be the guy - however sadly I think they burnt him badly last year, (Kristoff excluded). I don't have the capacity or desire anymore to train in the way needed to be fast on the road, and even at my best, I couldn't out power him, so would have to hope to out manoeuvre - which isn't impossible in TCR. Robin has shown it's possible to be close. But I suspect Christof had another gear if needed. This isn't to say I'd never return, just not there to race for places, the odessey aspect is beautiful, but I also feel I'm close to using my nine lives.

  • Be interesting to know the detail.

  • Great answer! I agree about Ulrich too.

  • Would be cool if Ulrich did return and win. To hold the Tour Divide and TCR, that's something special. I'm glad I won TCR when it was a bit softer ;).
