In another forum I go to we don't have dibs. If you want something you first send a PM with an offer of an immediate Paypal payment. That's your only option. Then immediately you post 'PM sent' in the thread. Then everyone else gives up, unless the seller announces that the sale has fallen through.
Has potential. There are lots of dibs then no follow through. A PM proposing immediate payment is a statement of intent. Only one thing worse than "dibs" is "dibs for XYZ". I suppose the seller can dictate if PM's with payment trump dibs
